The beauty of a long-distance relationship

The physical chemistry between you immediately disappears, becomes obsolete;

The mental images of each other’s physical appearance slowly become outdated and faint;

Your souls are naked, the physical body stripped away.

Your hands, your lips, your skin, can no longer touch,

only your words can.

If your words can reach across the distance, and bring each other comfort, kindness, beauty, trust, laughter, fulfillment,

That is the most pure and most noble form of love:

When only your souls touch.
